Service
Electrical Engineering
Service entrance to outlet — power distribution, lighting power, and life-safety systems. We design for the realities of the field: panel space, conduit routing, and inspector expectations. Lighting fixture selection and low-voltage system design are handled by specialty designers; we coordinate with them and provide the power and pathways their systems need.

Capabilities
- Service & power distribution design
- Branch circuiting & power for lighting (fixture layouts by lighting designer)
- Emergency, egress, and life-safety systems
- Fire alarm design & coordination
- Short-circuit, coordination & arc-flash studies
- Power and pathway coordination for owner-furnished low-voltage systems
Deliverables
- One-line diagrams & panel schedules
- Power plans for lighting layouts provided by others
- Fire alarm riser & device plans
- Utility coordination letters
Sectors we serve
How we work
- 1
Service & load study
We size the service from connected and demand loads — not assumptions — and coordinate with the utility on transformer location, metering, and easements early.
- 2
Power distribution design
One-lines, panel schedules, and branch circuiting developed against IECC, ASHRAE 90.1, and the local energy code — including power to the lighting fixtures laid out by the project's lighting designer.
- 3
Life-safety systems
Fire alarm, emergency lighting, and egress coordinated with the architect and the AHJ. Power and pathways for owner-furnished low-voltage systems (data, AV, security, access control) are coordinated with those vendors.
- 4
Studies & coordination
Short-circuit, coordination, and arc-flash studies when the project warrants — plus utility coordination letters and submittal review through CA.
Frequently asked
- Do you provide arc-flash studies?
- Yes — short-circuit, coordination, and arc-flash studies as a stand-alone service or bundled with new design.
- Do you provide lighting design?
- No. We are not lighting designers — fixture selection, photometric layouts, and controls programming are handled by a dedicated lighting designer or the fixture manufacturer's rep. We design the power, circuiting, and emergency/egress lighting that supports their layout.
- Do you design low-voltage systems?
- Low-voltage system design (data, AV, security, access control, structured cabling) is not part of our standard scope. We can offer suggestions and we coordinate power, backboxes, and conduit pathways for the owner's low-voltage vendor so their scope drops in cleanly.
- Do you handle utility coordination?
- Yes. We prepare utility coordination letters, attend pre-design meetings, and keep the service application moving so it doesn't become a schedule risk.
